The Phoenix Recovery and Advocacy Institute Ltd. is committed to supporting individuals affected by human trafficking, exploitation, trauma, and related forms of victimization through advocacy, education, research, prevention, and collaborative partnerships.
Restoring Hope. Rebuilding Lives. Reshaping Futures.
The Phoenix Recovery and Advocacy Institute Ltd. (PRAI) was established to address the critical gaps that exist between crisis intervention, legal advocacy, recovery services, education, research, prevention, and long-term reintegration. Too often, individuals affected by exploitation and trauma find themselves navigating fragmented, disconnected systems that fail to meet their complex needs.
PRAI exists to change that. Through trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and evidence-informed approaches, we work to create coordinated, collaborative solutions that honour the dignity and resilience of every individual we serve.
Our commitment extends beyond direct service — we invest in education, research, prevention, and systems improvement to create lasting, positive change within communities across Canada.

Explore All ProgramsAt PRAI, research is not an academic exercise — it is a tool for justice. Our Research & Intelligence function drives evidence-informed decision making, enabling us to identify trends, understand community needs, and develop targeted prevention and advocacy strategies.
Through community-based research, trend analysis, and public policy recommendations, we translate data into action. Our research informs educational resources, strengthens advocacy positions, and contributes to systemic improvements that protect vulnerable individuals and prevent exploitation.
Every contribution — of time, expertise, or resources — helps us build a more just and compassionate response to exploitation and trauma. There are many ways to be part of this mission.
